Support of the education of socially disadvantaged Roma pupils in a selected primary school

This thesis focuses on the issue of support strategies used for socially disadvantaged Romani pupils in a selected primary school. In the theoretical part, it defines the basic concept of social disadvantage, the term socially disadvantaged pupil, and the reasons for educational failure due to social disadvantage. It introduces the fundamental manifestations of social disadvantage and the barriers it creates in the educational process. The thesis further specifies the issue of the Romani ethnicity, provides a brief history of the Roma people, describes the specifics of Romani families, the upbringing of children, and the position of individual family members. It then addresses the issue of Roma education and the support system. In the context of the thesis topic, it describes the support strategies used in the education of socially disadvantaged Romani pupils. The aim of the practical part was to find out how support for the education of social disadvantaged Romani pupils is implemented in a selected primary school. Using a semi- structured interview method, it was determined which support mechanisms the school uses and with what effect, as well as which support options are not used and why. Attitudes of Roma People to a Healthy Lifestyle

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic "The Attitude of Roma People to a Healthy Lifestyle". Quantitative investigation methods using a questionnaire technique were used to obtain the information. This makes it possible to present the attitudes of 40 respondents and through them their families. The research was focused on diet, exercise, sleep, leisure, as well as healthy lifestyle risk factors such as tobacco use, alcohol consumption, and drug use.  The main aim of the research was to map respondents' awareness of healthy lifestyles and their components, how healthy lifestyle principles are followed by respondents and their families, how they feel about risk factors, and whether these claims are reflected in the daily routine of respondents and members of their families.
Attitudes of Czechia and Slovakia towards the forced sterilization of Roma women in comparative perspective

The bachelor thesis is a comparative two-cases study that compares approaches of Czechia and Slovakia towards forced sterilizations of Roma women that was taking place on their territory during several decades. Sterilization is a medical intervention disabling a human reproduction. Sterilizations were set in the seventies in the former Czechoslovakia in accordance with an eugenics ideology of controlling public reproduction and influencing quality of the society. Ongoing differencies between major society and Roma people lasted for centuries in spite of many attempts to assimilate Roma people and that is the reason why Roma women were the target. However, controlling reproduction of population is violation of human rights. For this reason, both countries had to accept apropriate restrictions. The sterilization policy was ignored for a long time, although complaints and activities of victims started to appear at the beginning of this century. All the speaking victims together with many nongovernmental organizations tried to obtain a compensation for victims of this unlawful policy of forced sterilizations. Approaches to education of socially handicapped children in the Czech republic and in Slovakia

This thesis deals with education of socially handicapped people in the Czech Republic and in Slovakia. It presents approaches and supporting disposals in both countries. The attention is devoted to actual situation in education of socially handicapped children at various degrees of schools. It describes affirmative actions, such as preliminary classes, education assistants in the Czech Republic or zero grades, education assistants and daylong education system in Slovakia. The thesis also sums up several projects focused on socially handicapped, one project focused on Roma children support realized in the Czech republic, three projects focused on education of socially handicapped, their parents' and educators' support, realized in middle Slovakia in years 2011-2015. Racial prejudice at the secondary school students in Prague

(in English) The thesis main focus is to research racial prejudice of the secondary school students in Prague. Firstly, the theoretical part analyses adolescence as a specific developmental period. Secondly, it describes the profile of secondary school student based on an analysis of Framework Education Programme for Secondary General Education (Grammar Schools) in relation to the formation and consolidation of a set of beliefs, attitudes and value orientation of the students. Finally, it examines the area of prejudices and prejudicial thinking. The practical part is devoted to the research of prejudicial thinking of students from two secondary schools in Prague, the methodology of the research and the results evaluation.

In his academic record Richard Sivák got on Charles Univeristy, where he finished educational process for now. He still thinks, that he will continue latter. He evaluated teachers according their competiton explain subjects, acording their evaluate knowledge of students and their rigorousness as inseparable part of educcation process which purpose is force students to more efort and have better knowledge. In every classroom he was accepted and he was able to have good and possitive realationship with others students and teachers as well. He has never experienced some kind discrimination behavior. He has studied without problems and without special effort. He considers education as way of personal self-realization and as way to better opportunity on labor market. His socialization was made in majority enviroment and because of it he has got required competition for success dealing with majority. Attitudes to the Education of the Romany Students

The topic of this thesis, "Attitudes to the Education of the Romany students", is looking at instruction of Roma people as a tool for crime prevention related to this ethnic group. The purpose of this text is to assess the practical impacts of the implementation of the Czech government's "Strategy for Crime Prevention", based on personal experience and involvement in a project related to it. A specific project, in a selected area, is used as an example of how to implement projects of this kind. The following text is split into two parts. The first part is describing the history of Roma people in the Czech lands, and addresses the relationship between this ethnic group and crime. The second part is focused on the project related to the Strategy for Crime Prevention. The Strategy is first theoretically introduced and then described in practical terms in the given locality.

Na začátku hovořím o romské historii, dále o pastoraci a sociální práci a nakonec rozebírám duchovní činnosti v rámci romské komunity, organizované jak českou, tak i romskou populací. V části praktické se pak zaměřuji na rozhovory s duchovními, jež se v této komunitě pohybují. Mezi romskou menšinou se již sama delší dobu pohybuji při různých kulturních a náboženských událostech. Je pro mě důležité, že se mohu ve své práci podělit i osobní zkušenosti. Cíle práce jsou v rámci rozhovorů s duchovními následující: 1) Zjistit, jaké prospěšné aktivity pořádá církev pro romskou komunitu 2) Zjistit, jak funguje spolupráce s Romy na církevních aktivitách 3) Objasnit specifika romské spirituality

The subject of the bachelor's work is to monitor the history and the existence of the camp in Lety. We focus mostly on the time when generally Roma people were interned here. The goal of the work is to describe the events that happened after the pig factory farm was settled on the place of the former concentration camp. The crucial point is to gather the declarations of some politicians and their attitude to the issue. Inevitable part of the work is also the interview with one Czech expert in this subject
